Mother's Day Tea with Connor

Wild man Connor with Mimi

Saying the blessing

Saying the pledge of allegiance

Mimi and I attended Connor's Mother's Day Tea in May.  They served monkey bread and tea.  My little monkey Connor LOVED the monkey bread.  His teacher, Mrs. Becky Baxter, read I'll Love You Forever to us.  It is a special book in our family.  At bedtime, Connor used to ask me to rock him and sing I'll Love You Forever.  He is just like the little boy mentioned in the story who flushes his mommy's watch down the toilet.  Connor has flushed toothbrushes, airplanes, cars, and a harmonica down the toilet at our house, but I'll love my Connor-bug forever, no matter what!

Weston and Will had to come up with a science project to share with Weston's class for science week.  They chose the Laws of Aerodynamics and Bernoulli's Principle.  Weston explained how the forces of thrust and drag act on a plane.  They made paper airplanes with different modifications to demonstrate thrust and drag.  Then Will brought out the gear for everyone to see.  Weston and Will both did a great job!  Connor, James, and I all came to show support.

We celebrated Easter this year with egg hunts for Weston and Connor's classes.  Connor's hunt was at Lilly Pace's house, and Weston's was at Fairpark and Rosie's.  Connor, James, and I met up with Weston's class at Rosie's for a little treat.  Then we walked with Weston's class to First Presbyterian Church for pictures by their pretty flowers.  The next day, we went to another hunt for Will's squadron in West Point at the DeSantis' farm.  It was a lot of fun.  The boys especially liked playing with the chickens and seeing all the cows.  Will celebrated his 38th birthday on Easter Sunday.  We had a special brunch with one of our favorites--chicken and waffles.  We also ate caramel cake, because it is the birthday boy's favorite.  We let James have a few tiny tastes of caramel icing, too.  He really liked it, and he cried for more.  I guess he has his mama's sweet tooth!
