For Weston's 4th birthday party, we just invited boys.  We made Indian feathered hats and painted warpaint on their faces.  We made the teepees out of bamboo sticks, a bungee cord, and sheets.  The party was just as I pictured it--little boys running around our backyard like wild Indians.  It was so fun, and the birthday boy had a blast.  They colored pictures of a teepee before having cake & ice cream.  Weston got lots of fun presents.  Mimi dropped off a package to him in a small rectangular box.  I asked Weston what he thought it might be, and he said, "Hmm, let's see...it must be a baby sister."  Who knew that was even on his wish list?! One thing I have noticed since his turning four is that he can color much better than he used to.  He actually sits down long enough to color a whole picture.  The other night he must have sat for an hour and a half while he colored several different pictures.  Maybe he will have a good attention span for learning in school!!  He has been so cute and sweet lately.  He tells me I am "bitiful" almost every day.  Here are just a few things he has said this week:
1.  "Am I still four? (when he wakes up each morning)
2. "Look how tall I am." (standing up several times during a meal to show us)
3. "Look how big my shadow is." (every time he gets out of the car)
4. "Mommy, you look so bitiful."  (I love how he says beautiful. My little guy is such a charmer!)
5. "Next week, when I'm a grown-up..." (we had to set him straight on this one)

Seven Years!

Dinner at the 360 Grille
Will and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary with a night away at the Marriott Shoals.  We had such a fabulous time!  We layed out by the pool & sipped on frozen "Lava Flows" (just like we had done in Kauai on our honeymoon). That night, we had dinner overlooking the Tennessee River at sunset.  I feel so blessed to be married to this man.  He is such a wonderful husband, a loving & hands-on dad, and an incredible best friend.  I thank God for the precious gift of marriage and how He shows His love for me through Will.  "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" (Song of Songs 6:3).

Excited about coming home to matching big boy beds
Weston making a pirate face as he crawled in bed
In May, Will & I took the boys to Orange Beach for a week.  We went before all the schools got out, so it was nice and calm.  Connor and Weston shared a room with matching twin beds.  This was a good trial run for Connor, because we were planning to move him to a big boy bed as soon as we got home.  We played putt-putt one night at Pirate's Cove with Weston & Connor.  They both really enjoyed it.  We only lost a few balls.  I worked on my continuing education for ASHA while at the beach.  I participated in an online conference on stuttering and completed my CEU requirements (30 hours!).  I was so glad to get that behind me.  We had so much fun at the beach, and we didn't want to leave at the end of the week.  However, we were excited to be welcoming Mary Perry into our home in just one week.  She would be staying with us for the next 10 weeks while she would be serving as a summer intern at The Orchard.  When we got home, the boys' pirate bedding had been delivered, so Connor & Weston spent the night in their matching twin beds.  Will said he was kind of sad to put the crib away in storage. (I was too!)  We've had our boys in that crib for almost four years now, and both of them are growing up so fast!
