We celebrated Connor's 3rd birthday at Fire Station #3.  We climbed on the truck, took a tour of the station, and learned about fire safety.  We ate fire truck cake & ice cream.  For party favors, Connor gave his friends stuffed dalmation fire dogs and fire hats.  The birthday boy had a great time!  He kept saying, "for me?", as if he couldn't believe all this birthday excitement was just for him.  This was his first real birthday party with school friends.  Some of his gifts included a Lightning McQueen fishing pole, a Spider-Man bike helmet and bell, a big boy booster carseat with race cars on it, a Batman costume, a Batman backpack, and lots of fun cars and plane toys.  Connor had a really special birthday.
It is so fun watching him grow.  His little personality is really coming out and he has become really chatty and inquisitive lately.
We love you, Connor-bug.  You are such a special boy, a gift from God.  At your family birthday dinner, we made you "pasta dinner", as you requested.  We went around the table sharing things we love about you.  Some of those things were: you are funny, affectionate, cuddly, well-mannered, always eager to say the blessing at meals, very generous, and you give great "squeeze hugs".  We finished up the birthday celebration with a trip to "pink ice cream place" (what you call Baskin Robbins).
At bedtime, you like to be rocked while we sing "I'll Love You Forever" together.  Recently, you strummed your guitar and sang "Create in me a clean heart, O God" all by yourself.  It was absolutely precious! You have a big heart and you are a ton of fun.  God has great plans for you, buddy.

Weston wanted to have his 5th birthday party at the bowling alley.  We invited just boys, and he had a lot of fun.  Weston and his buddies all took turns throwing (not rolling) the balls down the lane.  Will described it as "controlled chaos", but it was a perfect day for the birthday boy.  Connor's very first bowl was a strike, if you can believe that!  We ate hot dogs, chips, and had Spider-Man cake.

For Weston's special birthday dinner, he requested spaghetti and salad.  So, Will and I made him his favorite meal.  Mimi, Grandy, Megan, and Nate joined us for dinner also.  We started a new tradition this year.  After dinner, we all went around the table and shared what we love and appreciate about the birthday boy.  Just a few of the characteristics shared about Weston included: a servant's heart, kind, caring, generous, loves God, creative, loves to learn new things, & excited about (everything) in life.  Weston, you are such a special boy, and Mommy & Daddy love you very much.  We are so proud of the boy that you have become.  We have fun watching you dress up as different superheroes all the time, even the ones that you make up.  You will always be our superhero!
