Weston's Spring Program

Joy to the world, all the boys & girls...
Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea...
Joy to you & me!
Connor & Daddy playing around
Weston had his Spring program for school in April.  The theme was Under the Sea.  In case you were wondering, Weston & his classmates were fish!  They sang Joy to the World (one of Grandy's favorites) and several other songs.  Programs are always so fun!  Weston loved his fish costume so much that he wore it for several days following the program, everywhere we went.  He even wanted to sleep in it.  I finally convinced him to take it off when he dropped some chocolate ice cream on it.

Not much sleeping went on here
In April, the boys & I took Will to camp at Bay Springs lake for his 36th birthday.  The weather had been real nice, but for some reason, the weekend we went camping felt more like winter.  We put on our jackets and huddled around the campfire for some good roasted marshmallows, though.  Looking back at all the pictures, I think Connor had a marshmallow up to his mouth in most of them!  The boys slept together in the bottom bunk of the camper.  This was Connor's first time out of a crib or pack-n-play, so he had a hard time going to sleep.  He just wanted to play with Weston, now that he had been given the freedom!

No cavities!!
Weston went for his first dental cleaning & check-up in April.  He was so excited about getting to go to the dentist.  He was given a balloon and free ice cream from Chick-fil-A for being such a good patient.

Easter, as we have culturally made it, is a pretty exhausting holiday.  We went to four Easter egg hunts and came home with too much candy.  This year, Weston grasped the concept of Jesus dying for our sins on the cross, which was pretty cool.  He has a good book that we read at bedtime called Big Thoughts for Little Thinkers, and it describes the gospel in a way that kids can understand.

Connor turned 18 months old in March.  He had his first haircut with Mrs. Blair. (His first self-haircut came later, at only 20 months, when he discovered his daddy's electric beard trimmer!! Mrs. Blair had to fix that, too!)  At 18 months, Connor had over 30 words in his vocabulary.  He was beginning to put words together, such as "get down" and "I'n dat" (I want that).  His little personality was emerging as an affectionate, sweet, and funny little boy.

Birthday Getaway

Gondola ride at the Venetian
Our favorite Venetian restaurant, Trattoria de Reggiano
In our seats for The Phantom of the Opera
For my 32nd birthday, Will took me to Las Vegas.  We stayed at the Venetian, which was absolutely fabulous!  It was the most relaxing trip.  We walked down the Strip one night to see the fountain show at the Bellagio, but we spent the rest of the time at the Venetian.  We ate Italian food every night and sampled Italian red wines. On my birthday, we went to see Phantom at the Venetian.  I also got to have lunch with my sweet friend, Jenn, who lives in North Las Vegas.  I hadn't seen Jenn since she moved from Sumter, SC to Phoenix five years ago.  I wish I had gotten a pic with Jenn, but I left my camera behind.  Oh, how I want another relaxing Vegas getaway!
