     We were down a few kids while the Littles were at the beach, so we invited Bert to come out on the boat with us.  We had just purchased new trainer-skis, so Bert tried them out.  He got up on his first attempt!!  We couldn't wait to share the good news with his Mama, Emily!

     Mimi and Grandy took the Littles to the beach for a trip after they returned from Colorado with the Bigs.  James really (really) wanted to go on the Colorado trip, so Mimi and Grandy decided to take Hannah and him to Orange Beach.  Afterall, the beach is James' favorite place!  James and Hannah had fun playing in the sand and swimming in the pool.  Beignets for breakfast were a special treat, too.

Weston's 11th Birthday Party

 
     Weston invited three teammates, Kelso, Madden, and Bryce to spend the night for his birthday party.  Asher came along for Connor.  The boys played capture the flag, a little x-box, and had a homerun derby.  We grilled out burgers and had baseball cupcakes and ice cream.  The next night we went out for dinner as a family to our favorite birthday spot, Mt. Fuji.  Weston invited his classmate Ethan to come along.  Weston was in Colorado with Mimi, Grandy, and Connor visiting cousins on his actual birthday, so we celebrated him at home after he returned.

A Makeup Party and a Special Invitation

     Hannah was invited to a makeup party for her friend, Emerson Hill's, birthday.  She applied her own makeup for the first time.  She had a blast making herself look glamourous.  Later that evening, Danielle and Emory came over for dinner.  They asked Hannah to be a flower girl for their wedding.  She happily accepted the invitation, although I'm not sure she fully understood what a flower girl was. We can't wait until the wedding in October!

Anniversary Getaway While Kids Were in Georgia

 

     While the kids went to Georgia for a week, Will and I managed to get away for a few nights in Birmingham.  We stayed at the Ross Bridge Resort.  As the kids were fishing, shooting, and building a pull-up bar at the "farm", we were resting, laying out at the pool, hanging around a fire pit, and following a bagpiper.
