November was full of fun.  It all started with Uncle Brian's visit all the way from Colorado.  Connor and James both met Uncle Brian for the first time.  Connor called him "Uncle" and never left his side, or his lap very much either.  Both boys enjoyed having Brian as a playmate.  Everywhere we went in the car, they wanted "Uncle" to squeeze right in the middle.  Connor was so sad when Uncle had to go back home.  He pouted all day and shed some pitiful tears.  Kids have a way of judging whether a person has good character or not. Upon visiting with Brian, Weston & Connor recognized right away that he has such good character.  I'm his little sister, and I think he is one of the nicest people I know.

Weston celebrated the 50th Day of Kindergarten with his class in November.  It was a day packed full of fun.  We all dressed up for the party, which was complete with root beer floats and dancing to 50s music.  All the learning activities for the day centered around the 1950s theme and counting to fifty.  The kids also had their pictures taken in front of a 1950s Chevrolet that belonged to his classmate Matthew's dad.  If there is one thing that Weston loves, it is a good party.  Joy was written all over his face the whole day. 

Connor also had his first dental checkup at Dr. Ritter's that afternoon.  He was such a good patient.  He watched Toy Story while his teeth were cleaned.  Dr. Ritter made him a balloon shaped like a cat when he was all done.  When his balloon lost its shape after playing with it for a while, Connor was able to recreate the cat by twisting it back into shape.  He is so observant.  Nothing gets past him, even when you think he isn't paying attention.

This Halloween was baby James' first, so we all dressed up for the occasion.  Will and Connor were dressed as Batman, Weston as Spider-man, James as Superman, and I was Wonder Woman.  I went to Connor's class party for all the Halloween fun.  Weston was recovering from the stomach bug, so he stayed home with Mimi.  It stormed that night, so no one went trick-or-treating. We only had one trick-or-treater come to our door.  However, we all managed to have plenty of fun and eat lots of sugar at our house!

Weston's first soccer game was the day baby James was born.  I couldn't leave the hospital, so I was sad that I had to miss it.  Will, Connor, Mimi, & Grandy all went to cheer on Weston.  Will said that Weston was really excited to be out on the field.  He was really aggressive, pulling on others' jerseys when fighting for the ball.  He was also making scary faces and growling at the other team.  Oh, Weston is such a funny little guy!  I was able to go to his second game, so I snapped all these photos.  Weston had a good first Fall soccer season.  He scored 4 goals.  He was quite the defensive player (as Will pointed out to me).  We had fun watching the games and watching Weston develop good athletic skills and learn about sportsmanship.  After the games, Connor got to run out on the field, wearing the shin guards and green socks I bought him, as he score his own goal.  On several weekends, Will and I loaded up the boys to go to the soccer fields for a picnic lunch and to practice kicking the ball around.  This was good family fun, and the boys were able to run and play off all their energy.  Soccer will start back in January or February, so we will bundle up for the second half of the season.

James Everett Parrott was born on September 17, 2013.  He weighed 7 lbs. and 6 oz., and he was 19 1/2 inches long.  He was welcomed with love by his two big brothers, Weston (5) and Connor (3).  As the Psalm says, "Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth.  Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them" (Psalm 127:3-5, NIV).  Will and I feel incredibly blessed to have another son.  We feel so honored that God has entrusted him into our care to "train him in the way that he should go."  He will be three weeks old tomorrow, and we have loved having our new little man around.  He is a very sweet and good baby.  So far, it has been pretty easy to meet his needs.  His brothers love him very much, and they have been giving him lots of kisses on his head.  Weston likes to talk to him and calm him down when he cries.  Connor has been a great helper, getting diapers and blankets when we need them.  James, we are already so in love with you.  I know God has great plans for you.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
