James' Baptism

James was baptized on August 3.  He was a sweet boy and he didn't cry or fuss a bit.  He just had a serious look on his face the whole time.

When Weston realized he couldn't invite all his friends to Disney World for his birthday party and give them all real pirate's swords, Chuck E Cheese was a close second.  He had a great time partying with his friends and rocking out with Chuck E playing air guitar.  Weston thought it was a competition, and he put on a good show.  At the end, he asked, "Did I win, Mama?"  According to Weston, the best thing about the party was getting the "Rock Star Birthday Medallion".  After wearing it for a few days straight, the medallion has found its way safely to the treasure chest that Mimi and Grandy gave him.  It lies next to rocks, feathers, coins, and other trinkets that Weston's finds very special.

4th of July

We went to Smith Lake with the Van Ostens for the 4th of July.  Miss Chloe came with us to provide extra hands.  Miss Chloe helped the kids make an American flag cake.  It was really yummy, too.  The boys enjoyed playing, inter-tubing, and watching movies with Karla and Katie.  Weston and Connor both skied on the ski trainer.  It was Connor's first time to ski.  We also found a cool marina with a restaurant on the water.  It was such a fun 4th, and the weather was beautiful this year!

The boys have enjoyed going over to the "race track" this summer.  It is a nearly vacant cul-de-sac in Oak Meadows.  They can ride their bikes safely there without worrying about hills or cars.  Weston learned to ride his bike without training wheels earlier in the summer.  When he and Connor are not riding around our back patio, we bring the boys over to the race track.  We have done this a few times after church on Sundays.  This was one rainy Sunday, but Weston & Connor didn't mind a bit.
